Scarecrow Festival Was Too Scary!!!

Got ready for the big weekend, made lots of product.  Thought my booth looked okay.  Hardly any sales on Saturday.  Maybe my off Main Street location was a factor.  Sunday was a total rainout which was both good and bad since we needed the rain.  Got about 4 inches.  But we must trudge onward!!!  My next show is the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in the Houston Heights.  Wish me luck!

Wrap, Wrap, Wrap, They Call Him The Wrapper!

Ha ha.  (If you know the song these lyrics are from, I know your age!)  Been busy wrapping soaps today for the Scarecrow Festival and that song popped into my head.

Worked on lotion this week and wax tarts.  Busy bee, that's me.  Hope you can join us on October 8 and 9 in beautiful downtown Chappell Hill!  Hope the weather holds!  Looks  now like maybe a change of rain that weekend.  OF COURSE!!  No rain in months, but that weekend, look out!  Hey, we want the rain, no matter what.

Wholesale Opportunities Abound!

If you see something you like in my Etsy shop (soon to be my website), you can order it wholesale.  Contact me for information and pricing.  Bigger is better!

Another Fall Festival

Well, I am jumping in with both feet with festivals this fall!  As you know, I will have a booth at the Scarecrow Festival in Chappell Hill, Texas on October 8 and 9 (I will have two lovely assistants to help me, my nieces Leigh and Tierney).  Then on November 5, I will have a booth at the lovely Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, Texas.  They are hosting a fragrance event and have graciously asked me to be a vendor.  The Rose Emporium is not a bad drive from Houston.  Takes about an hour from Cypress.  Take 290 out toward Brenham, then turn right off 290.  Then I will have a booth on November 12 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1819 Heights Boulevard, Houston, TX 77008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Christmas is coming, you know!

I hope to see you there!

New Website

Well, I am finally taking the plunge and having a website designed!  I have hired a creative web designer from Etsy and she is working with me on the design.  The website will be tuckerhilldesigns.com.  It'll be a lot of hard work from writing the script to taking pics, etc.  But I hope the end will be worth all the effort.  So check back soon, folks!  Tuckerhilldesigns.com coming to a computer near you!

Scarecrow Festival in Chappell Hill

I am going to have a booth at the Scarecrow  Festival in Chappell Hill, TX on October 8 and 9.  Should be fun.  Hopefully not so hot!  I'll be right on Main Street, just south of Providence.   Hope you can stop by!

Here's a pic of perfume I am making.

More Adventures in Soap!

Well, got through the Chappell Hill Lavender Festival - it went well.  Hotter than heck, but we lived!  Had a large attendance, people are such troopers in the heat!  Here is a pic of some sugar soap in coconut milk and a pic of soap in Lemon Verbena.  These soaps contain sugar which adds loads of lather and light exfoliation.  Super cool, if you ask me.  I've gotten good feedback on this soap and hope to actually sell some soon!  If you have a chance, stop by my store at tuckerhilltx.etsy.com.

New - Sugar Scrub Soap!

Been fooling around again in the kitchen.  Have you ever heard of Salt Bars?  They are soap with salt in them that are exfoliating.  Since I already do sugar scrubs, I thought I would do a Sugar Bar!  Mixed my all natural soap with sugar and voila!  A sugar bar!  Very gentle on the skin.  Sugar provides all kinds of benefits for the skin.  Take a look and tell me what you think!

Lavender Festival

It's finally here!  Tomorrow, Saturday, at 9:00 at the Chappell Hill Lavender Farm.  Too bad it's hotter than hades out there.  It's hot every August, but it is extreme this year.  Hope to have a good turnout, anyway.  Got everything set up and ready to go today and will be out there early tomorrow with my beautiful assistant, my niece Leigh.  Come visit my booth.  Would love to see you there!

Busy Bee!

Been busy last few months.  Getting ready for the Chappell Hill Lavender Festival next weekend, the 13th.  I'll have bath bombs, reed diffuser oils, perfumes, body spray mist, lotion, massage oil for sale!  Should be hot but busy!  Stop by if you get a chance.  Only about an hour from Houston out 290!

We have a new look.  Colors are now black and white.  I finally have an Etsy banner - here it is.  What do you think?  Kinda blurry here for some reason.

I have a new wholesale customer for my sugar scrubs.  Very excited.  Working on that order now.  Everyone who tries my scrubs (so far as I know) loves them.

I have joined the Etsy Treasury Team.  Lots of fun - treasuries are fun to create.  Get more exposure that way.  Members of the team must create treasuries using other members' items.  I think I have had more traffic on my site since then.  Also a member of the Etsy Out Of The Box Sampler Team.  I sent out samples of various products in May.

Hope everyone is having a great summer!  It's hotter than heck, but it may soon be over, for this year.  Come on, cold fronts!

Lavender Festival at Chappell Hill Lavender Farm

This year the annual Lavender and Wine Festival is August 13, 2011 at the Chappell Hill Lavender Farm!  Lots to see and do - lots of vendors selling unique handmade items.  Also check out the farm's gift shop - plenty of items there, too! Tucker Hill will have a booth there offering all kinds of bath, body and home fragrance goodies.  The lavender farm is in Brenham just off Route 1155.  Check out the farm's website at chappellhilllavender.com.  The farm is about an hour drive from Houston - just go out 290 west - turn right on 1155 at the Chappell Hill stop light (you can't miss it - it's the first stop light on 290 from Houston and there is a Rustler's at the corner with a Burger King).  Stay on 1155 until it ends - turn right - drive about 2 miles and turn left on Dillard Road.  The farm is down a few hundred yards on the right.  There will be signs directing you - you won't get lost!  We would love to see you there!

More Sugar Scrub Cubes

Try our Lavender  Honey!  It's so delicious smelling!  It's like smelling every flower in the world, plus a little lavender zing.  And they are so pretty!  But we may be a little prejudiced!

Bath Bombs That Don't Hurt!

We have been busy and making bath bombs.  We are interested in providing moisture to normal or dry skin.  Our latest concoction is a foaming bath bomb in the scent, Coconut Milk.  Smells like tropical coconut - very smooth!  Drop it in the bath and watch it fizz and foam.  Won't leave a bathtub ring or make the tub slippery.  Let us know what you think!

Etsy Out Of The Box Sampler Team

Trying to stay busy!  I joined the Out Of The Box Sampler Team on Etsy!  People can order sample boxes of products and creators like me can send out samples to the Sampler Team for distribution to people who order these sampler boxes!  Cool way to get my name out there, and hopefully people will like my products!  I have been busy creating a new look for my products.  Working on labels or, rather, they are working on me!  Always a challenge to get these to look right.  What do you think?

Please come back often and see what we have going on!  Thanks for visiting!

Massage Oil - Does It Get Any Better?

Okay, let's talk about massage oil.  What a grand creation!  You mix oils together, add a little scent and, voila, a beautiful thing!  What says love more than than a massage? Not to mention the health benefits of the oils, themselves, and the relaxation. Our formula does not leave a grease slick behind - the oil has great glide and is easily absorbed into the skin, making it supple and soft.  We use premium sweet almond oil, coconut oil and rice bran oil, among others.

Some of our customers keep a bottle near the kitchen sink, and use just a little bit on their hands after washing dishes.  A great idea.  Wish we'd thought of it.

This oil is available in many scents, including Lavender Mint, Simply Lavender, Rosemary Mint and Eucalyptus.  Check out our Etsy shop - tuckerhilltx.etsy.com.

Let us know what you think of our blog and our posts.  We welcome all comments!

Sugar Scrubs - How Sweet! Naturally!

Hi!  Welcome to our blog. Let me tell you about sugar scrubs.  Yes, they are sweet, but not to eat!  They exfoliate your skin and moisturize at the same time, when you bathe or shower.  We make sugar scrubs instead of salt scrubs because salt can irritate the skin and any nicks or scrapes you may have.  We formulate our scrubs with natural products for people with dry skin who want moisturizing as well as people with normal skin who just want to exfoliate.  Exfoliation removes the top layer of skin cells, renewing the skin beneath, making it much softer.  Your skin will thank you!  Instead of scoopable, messy scrubs, we make these scrubs in the form of cubes or balls.  That makes these scrubs very portable - you can take them with you on a trip with no fear of a leaky mess.  These scrubs contain soap and can be used in place of gardener's or mechanic's soap.  We offer these scrubs in many scents, including mandarin orange, hazelnut coffee, sugar crush (like pink sugar), tahitian grapefruit, fuzzy peach, and more.  We offer Sugar Scrub Cubes and our so cute SugarDust Sugar Scrub.  Both types are pictured below.  Please visit our etsy shop at tuckerhilltx.etsy.com.
